I find myself once again drawn into the world of jewellery making. After leaving the Craft School over a decade ago I played a little bit with stained glass jewellery , some beadwork for gifts and a few crocheted and tatted bits. But when my mother came home from a visit to Florida with a bucketload of beads, I should have realized that was it. I'd see her working away with all those wonderful shiny beads and my fingers would start wiggling, eager to dig in. One day she took her work into the local rug hooking group which is held upstairs above the gallery where she was selling them and somehow I got drafted ("ask Debi, she studied jewellery making at school") to teach a class.
So I taught a class. And found out I really liked teaching. Several classes later, and I'm still really liking it. And I'm getting more and more into the jewellery making itself. The more beading I do, the more I want to get into the fabrication end of it again. Strange how life moves in circles.
So here's a couple of the things I'm teaching, crocheted bead ropes and a jump-ring bracelet. If you want to see more, check out the class flyer. Crocheted bead ropes Jump ring bracelet

Last winter I tried my hand at needle felting. Quite fun, though a bit hard on the fingertips. I finished up with several small items.
